Ward-Belmont School presents Elizabeth Hobbie in her Dance Diploma Recital, assisted by Dance Major Students. Held at the Ward-Belmont auditorium, Friday evening, March 24, 1939, at 8:15. The recital consisted of two parts with three dances each, with a five-minute intermission.

Context

Elizabeth "Tip" Hobbie was a member of the Ward-Belmont class of 1939. Originally from Montgomery, Alabama, Hobbie earned her General Diploma and Dancing Diploma from Ward-Belmont. She was a member of the Penta Tau social club, and served as its Vice President in 1939. She was also a member of the Math Club ('38), French Club ('38 & '39), and Art Club ('39). Per the Milestones 1939 yearbook, "the most outstanding performance of 1939 was Elizabeth Hobbie's diploma recital. She exhibited not only really fine dancing, but showed originality by designing her costumes and creating a dance herself."
