Miss Lambert,
Westerville, Ohio.
Darling Bertha: I will write only a note until Sunday. I am in the store, have been busy but not doing much. I got your letters and they certainly were cheering.
I hope I may not give occasion for you to write just in that way again. I am tinkering away here with one hand, but am thankful for that much. I will not get through here this wk. I may be able to work some with trowel next wk., C. W. has a three wks job at Athens and then perhaps something else may come.
I have no room to go to so I have been going down to Athens 8:35 and then up in the morning 6:05.
I love you as much as ever and will come to see you when I can. I will stay here tonight. If I learn anything in regard to school, I will let you know all.
The tuition at Athens is $9 per yr. It seems impossible for me to get much study done in this way. I appreciate your courage and feel that you will be my stay in that way. Pray for me, I will do the best I know and shall not forget you.
Your Lover,
J. H. Harris
