Miss Lambert,
Westerville, Ohio.
My Darling Bertha: Here I am again on the move. I left Portsmouth 10:28 this A.M. Have met the pastors of two churches. Did not get to show the Study Monday as the city was crazy on account of Labor Day. I sold 16 Tues. 2 Wed. and 8 thus far today. Will go to Waverly as soon as through here.
So if it is convenient for you to write soon I must hear from you. I believe you may send a letter to Waverly, please do. This is a small place and I shall leave here doubtless sometime tomorrow.
I know you are busy, but half dozen lines will beat none.
If I go toward you every day as far as today I will soon reach you. I shall do the best I can and will be as patient as possible and will love you with all my might.
Pardon me “Dear” for not writing more but I am in P.O. which is not a convenient place to write.
Hoping to hear from you soon I remain,
Your devoted Lover,
J. H. Harris.
