Context

Malcolm L. Smith P. O. Box 6712 Washington, D.C. 20020 June 29, 1983 Dear Bette, Thanks for your recent letter. We will try to put away that address and phone number for winter-time use. For a time we thought Grace Marie and Steve would have to move again. But now he has a new job with Hospice of Palm Beach County and they can stay put while that lasts. He does enjoy the work but we suspect it may have a serious "burn out " factor over a longer period. We have just observed our 50th anniversary with some of the family here. My brothers Stephen and David, with their wives Margaret and Vera, two nieces and a cousin came; and for Margarette three of her Wheeler cousins were here, as well as her sister Violet, who has been with us often over the years. Of course Grace Marie and family came - the grandchildren now like to play the piano and had a little program for us. A dinner party, which we gave at the historic Navy Yard Club, brought our family and close friends together, also our church had a special reception. Now we go away for a few days to rest! Our best greetings to you both, {Malcolm}
