Dear Bertha and Family, I do hope you are getting much better now and all goes well.
About as well as common here and many people feeling to some extent, cheered up. [Hersley] was here and says he sees so many people every day travelers tell him other places are not recovering their usual business trend so fast as Miami Beach and Coral Gables especially. Building nearly 90 new

houses in Miami Beach at an average cost of about Fourteen Thousand Dollars each. Think Coral Gables has sold more lots., but Merrick got so tangled up I think some are afraid to build at Corel Gables unless congress straightens out the titles. If the bill now being considered in Congress goes thro they say there will be much building there.
Jordan had just been over to Downings and picked some mulberries for us. We

have had many dishes from there but [Downing] always picked them before.
Do you know how Carrie and Oscar are? I hardly think they will go back as he has had several relapses.
I fear you will have some hot weather there as you are away from the sea breeze. Much bad weather in the north.
Arthur is to be married. They raised his salary to 1800

or I believe Emma wrote 150 a month. Must stop as eyes trouble some.
Love to all,
{Ida Harris}
