My Dear Sister: Your letter rec'd today and I will try to answer at once. It was a surprise that you have acted so quickly. You think you can start about Sep 5 and maybe come in five days to Lakeland. That will be the 10th.
I just asked a neighbor teacher and she says schools open here the 25. Likely the colleges do the same. Now you look around a day or two at Lakeland then come right on down here — you will have nearly two weeks to visit us and compare. A man who has been here many years just told me he never saw land so cheap. But do not buy at once.
Owners of the house here did not come down at all last winter and I think they may not come before Holidays this year as times are so dull. So many people here who used to have money now scrimp along with the rest of us.
We have no car, I am not strong, so we go seldom. It may be you will find the thing you want here — I feel sure

climate is better here where we have the sea breeze.
If you start about the 5th we shall not be able to write you again but write us — any time on the way and tell us at what towns you might inquire for mail. I wonder if Oscar is at Lakeland?
We are about as well as common for us. I am not much account, have had no convulsions for some time.
We are always glad to hear from the folks at the old house.
Now come see us.
Much love from both of us.
{Ida E. Harris}
