Box 219, Athens, O.
Oct. 21, '96.
Miss Lambert,
Westerville, Ohio.
Darling Bertha: Your letter just read. I came to Athens Friday night, went out home Mon. and returned today. You have been such a patient little girl in all your trials. I was so glad to know that your eyes are improving, but I shall wait to tell you face to face all the rest for I am really coming to you tomorrow so far as I know. I hope this may be our last letter for some time.
I am late for entering and will find work very difficult, but I can study at any rate.
I do not know how the trains are from Col. so I don't know what time I will arrive, but I will be there just the same. Please address me next at Westerville, Franklin Co. O. I can scarcely wait to get started.
Expecting to meet you heart to heart tomorrow I remain with love and “free silver” devotedly yours,
J. H. Harris,
Westerville, Ohio.
P.S. Think I may reach W. at noon. J. H. H.
