Context

[Ashville, OH, to Miss Bertha Lambert, Westerville, Ohio, “Franklin Co.”] Ashville, O. Sep 29, 1896. Dear Bertha: If rain doesn't drown me out I hope to be at Col. tonight and of course must see you a little while at any rate. If you have any work planned so it will be inconvenient for you to take the time, go ahead with your arrangements. I hope to get to Col. at 2:20, but have some work there so I can't come to you till late and it may be I will not get to Col. until 8 P.M. You must not be surprised I am coming in my working garb and can only stay over night as I see things now. It is breakfast time and almost train time too so I will say good morning “Darling” and hope to say good evening with greater emphasis. Your Lover J. H. Harris.
