Context

Paul J. Harris 3923 Seeley Downers Grove, Illinois 60515 June 1, 1992 Ms. Patricia A. Regan Koloski 3 Orchard Parkway Morganville, NJ 07751 Dear Patricia, I know this is a little slow, but thank you very much for the Christmas gift you sent us. We enjoyed it very much; PJ made short work of the salami, and Abby took care of the cheese! I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond, but I was not much in the Christmas spirit this year and I have been extremely busy looking for a job. I hope you will accept this belated, but sincere note of thanks. Better late than never! The last time I wrote to you was fifteen days before Midway Airlines shut down. Since that time, life around here has been a nightmare. Of course, you know all about that. I have been "fortunate" to find a "job" with Braniff International Airlines, but taking the job has created more problems than it has solved. The pay is less than half of what I made at Midway and I have to commute from Chicago to Newark to fly my trips. I was senior enough at Midway to hold schedules that did not require me to be gone overnight. This worked out very well with the children. I have to be gone for five or six nights at a time with Braniff, and this has created all kinds of problems with the children. I am trying to hire someone to stay with them when I am gone but have been unsuccessful at this time. In the meantime, they have been staying with neighbors at night and fending for themselves during the day. This is not a viable long term solution. [End of Page 1] Somehow, it will all work out. It is just a pretty rough road right now. I know single parents have never had it easy, but being gone so much really complicates things. I hope you made copies for your brother of the materials I sent you. If he has any interest in the family history, I would love to hear from him. I do not know his address or phone number on Staten Island. I am planning to write a textual story about the family sometime soon. As soon as I find the time, you will receive a copy. Hope all is well with your family. Sincerely, Cousin Paul
