Dear Paul,
I hope your move has gone smoothly and that you will soon be settled in. Raleigh will seem like home soon, I'm sure.
It was wonderful to meet you and discuss genealogy and our mutual ancestors. Time seems to go so quickly when I'm doing genealogy but the time that afternoon that we spent together just disappeared. It was great that you finally got to Allentown and had some free time. If you ever get back to LVI Airport, give me a call and we can go on with our discussion. If you have any time off, please think about spending a couple of days here so that we can go to Swarthmore.
The enclosed information is some things I thought you might find interesting. The loose pages in the folder are the pages that I copied from Swarthmore's Quaker research handbook that is on each table in the library. I would get home and discover that I really needed a map or general information so I decided I needed their book at home. I copied the pages of the Genealogical Pub. Co. Catalog that show Hinshaw's books and some pages from other catalogs that have good Quaker resources. I've enclosed an order blank with each of those and phone numbers and addresses. The map of Bern Twp., Athens Co., shows your Mt. Hermon Church and cemetery and the Ames Twp. map shows the Bethel Cemetery. I will get you an Athens Co. maps as soon as I can. The Morgan Co. map leaves much to be desired. There are no cemeteries or churches marked on it. I don't know the county well enough to be able to find anything. Maybe you can write to the OGS chapter in Morgan Co. and ask about the location of Hopewell. Their address is - P.O. Box 418, McConnelsville, OH 43756-0418.
The book in the Longwood Gardens bag is a copy for you of the book that I just happened to pick up there a couple of years ago. I thought you might enjoy seeing the pictures of the meetings and learning the history of them. It is of no genealogical value except for the families that are mentioned as members of some of the meetings but the history is accurate.
If you get here for some research, we'll be sure to do Embreeville for pictures and get to whatever other places you'd like to see.
All of this is just general information. I'll get the family information copied in the future and out to you. We've been very busy at work and my genealogy time has been pretty limited. I don't see it getting any better but I will make some time for important things soon.
[End of Page 1]
Again, I was so happy to finally meet you. Thank you for calling and taking time to have lunch with me.
Love,
{Louise}
