Paul: We buried our son's cremains in National Cemetery #1 on Oct. 18, 1990. Ft. Scott calls it #1. Actually 13 national cemeteries were commissioned by A. Lincoln in 1862 and this is one of them. Buried there are soldiers and scouts from the Indian wars, a Confederate section, and whole bomber crews are buried under large stones (these from WWII.) It is a a well-maintained, not large, but peaceful cemetery. We feel he would be content we took this step. {Betty}

It was fun finding out I had a second cousin and that you are so interested in the genealogy of the Lambert clan. I will help you all I can when I get into some of the charts and diaries, but I'm afraid much is lost.
I have corrected and added to some of the materials you sent. I would like to have a permanent copy of FAMILY GROUP RECORD 25 sometime. I have put in addresses and phone numbers if you want to get further information from the children.
If you can ever get to talk to Calvin Mayne, I think he would be able to add quite a bit about his immediate family and brothers. Dwight's two daughters should be able to give you much valuable information. I was fascinated about the Mayne infant buried in Dwight Mayne's grave. It seems I have a dim memory that they had another child, but Henrietta or Jean will be able to tell you more. They may know about Roger's missing family, too.
Jean Mayne Fulton's address now is: 120 E. Sugar, Mt. Vernon, Ohio (43050). Phone (614) 397-5104. It would be interesting if you could find out if her husband's family was in any way related to our eldest son's first wife, Jean Fulton. They came from that area, originally, but I was never able to find out the details. Perhaps Jean Mayne Fulton could enlighten you.
Henrietta Hobbs' address is: 3267 Simpson Road, Port Huron, Mich. 48060. I don't have here phone number.
I am sending the sheets pertaining to him to my brother, Robert Lambert Mayne. His address is: 1234 S. Second St., Alhambra, CA. 91801. (818) 576-8025. I think he would enjoy talking to you, too, and may have memories of the Maynes and Lamberts I don't know. I know Henrietta and Jean should be gold mines of information.
I talked to my mother, after your call, and she knew (you) someone had called and she remembers your father and Dan Harris and their relationship to my father, but mostly that she felt closer to Dan (who I think was the shining star in that family), and she didn't feel as close to your father. She verified that she was born in Condit, Ohio, but she cannot remember where John Chapman Mayne is buried. Maybe one of the other cousins will be able to tell you.
I will have more information later on Helen, and perhaps on Hannah and Bertha which I will copy off and send on to you. Keep me informed from time to tome how you are coming on this research. It is exciting that someone in the family is doing it and preserving it.

church settlement house in the industrial south side of Chicago. After
pastorates in south central Illinois, quite a bit of time was spent in St.
Joseph, MO. He spent five years as the state director of Social Actions
and Concerns for the Missouri Council of Churches until he was called to
Washington to become national Director of Organization for Protestants and
Other Americans United for Separation of Church and State, founded in 1948
by leading Methodists and other Protestants. Resigned {Retired} and returned to the
ministry at Foundry Methodist Church, Washington, DC, about 1963. {He was a pastoral minister here.}
