Dear Cousin John,
I am sending you a brief ancestral overview from my current data base. Please note that the ancestors I have highlighted are ones I have found through my own research, mostly in Quaker records up until now. Of particular note are the significant corrections I have made to W. O. Lambert's history of the Stanton line. You will notice on your copy of the Stanton history that W. O. L. has Henry Stanton married twice. First to Mary Hall, then to Lydia Albertrous, with Henry, Jr. listed as a child of Lydia's. A well documented book on the Stantons shows Henry's wives to be Mary Hull and Lydia Albertson, with Henry, Jr. as a son of Mary. Also, abstracts from Core Sound Monthly Meeting (Quaker) in North Carolina show Henry and Lydia getting married in 1745 and Henry, Jr. marrying Hope Borden in 1750. It is not likely that a child of Lydia would be getting married within five years of her marriage to the child's father. The entry regarding Henry, Jr.'s marriage goes so far as to mention his parentage - son of Henry and Mary his former wife.
I am also enclosing a computerized descendants chart of Robert Stanton. I do not have accurate information to include the marriages of your dad and Uncle Jim and their children I am enclosing some blank pedigree charts and family group records. If you would be willing to fill them out as best you can and return them to me, I would be honored to include the information in the overall data base of the Harris family.
I am also enclosing some extracts from the book OUR ANCESTORS THE STANTONS by William Henry Stanton. I am particularly interested in your examining the possible connection to Thomas Stanton of Connecticut who is mentioned on pages 16 - 20. Let me give you some time to digest this information and see what you can find out locally. I'll look forward to sharing additional information in the future.
Best regards to you and your family,
