Dear Malcolm,
I knew from the "D.C." address on a recent list sent to me (fm UTD) of the participants in the Daniel L. Harris Memorial Fund, that you must be related to Art & family. A letter from Art recently answered my query, so that I do recall now where you fit in the family tree. (And there was another Daniel Lambert who taught music at Oberlin as I recall.)
Jonathan & I do sincerely appreciate your very thoughtful and generous participation in

the Fund for Dan, which will probably be used to give an annual D. L. H. prize for outstanding undergraduate research. He would have approved very much of this. His scientific library of course will go to the Library & at the moment that is where our thoughts & time are involved & we must get through before Jon has to return to Berkeley.
Again our thanks to you & look forward to seeing you perhaps in Washington at some future time. I only wish you had had the opportunity of knowing Dan, whom we all miss so very, very much as time passes.
