Sunday Nite.
Dear Dick:—
Just got through writing a 1300 word criticism for maw Sherrick as a term paper & am tired of plunking the portable, so I'll scribble some.
Last Friday I was invited to a bob sleigh party given by the Toms Dachi's. There were 14 of us couples on a big sleigh pulled by a Chevrolet. When we went to turn a corner, the driver drove too fast and we skidded way out in different directions—but luckily no one was hurt and it was great excitement especially as I found a girl in my lap when it was over & everybody had "come to."
How is your work going. Remember me to all the fellows there.
I've been having my teeth fixed the past week. I had almost a new tooth put in, he had to make such a big filling for me.
Examinations start Thursday, but I've got all my work up pretty well, so it won't be a very hard week for me.
I saw the Unity Pageant in Columbus. Wish you could have seen the lighting effects used. Are you playing in any more orchestras?
Dad and I ate supper at Paul's last week. It was a real relief to get away from King Hall grub which, after a time, gets tiresome.
Ed Burtner and Glenn are tearing around like busy Freshmen. The glee club is coming along nicely now. I direct it in two rehearsals a week and some of the guys still like to "horse around."
We had a wonderful "Y" meeting last week, and this next week the W.H.S. Hi-Y Club has charge. The T & C has a good write-up of last week's meeting.
Whenever you come up, bring my top coat. I suppose the radio is working pretty good by now and that you are getting quite a few good programs. I hope I can be home soon to enjoy them.
Take good care of mother & give dad encouragement in his work,
Your loving brother,
"Jimmie"
P.S. Tell Keck I hope he hasn't drowned in any more feather beds. Remember me to Roehm. He'll probably let out a hoarse laugh when I tell him that Appleton is still looking for a girl, and Allaman is brokenhearted because his had to go home. Tell him I'm still single.
