Westerville, O., June 13, '96.
Mr. J. H. Harris,
Marietta, O.
My Darling Joe: — Commencement is over, our company is gone and we are left alone. I can not express my feelings at such times, but there is a strange longing that nothing seems to satisfy. All the exercises went off so nicely. The class day was great in most respects. The whole college from Preps to Seniors was represented completely. The address by the representative was fine, I think it would have been complete if you had been here. We got along very well with our company but were pretty tired yesterday. We are taking a rest now but we must scatter in a few days. Otterbein will go back to Clark Co. next Mon., Ira will go to Lake Geneva on Thur. and I do not know when I will leave. I would have gone home with John's but thought the load was too much for one horse.
I think now that I will canvass Westerville for the Bible studies before I leave. I wrote to you at Athens that I thought of going to Iberia and canvassing the towns near there. Have you heard whether Galion has been canvassed? Do you know whether Plain City in Union Co. has been taken?
I think some of visiting Lora Adams and thought perhaps I could canvass some while there.
I have surely missed you more since you left than I ever did before. Last night I saw you very vividly, in my dreams. I will close as Elsie is going to the office.
May we remain true to Christ and to each other.
Your Sweetheart
Bertha Lambert.
