Ada O.
Dear Joe: — I come again to repay the happy visit I rec'd yesterday.
Your letter found me in the school room and almost melted. Spring has surely come at last, her modest beauty is displayed in every nook and dell. How bright and cheery she seems. It surely ought to make one happy to see so many beauties in nature.
I was at church and S.S. today as usual and this afternoon I have been reading in the book you sent me, perusing the story of The New Governor thinking of you and of home & etc & etc.
I am enjoying this day immensely, but I believe the enjoyment would be even deeper were you here.
I had school again yesterday. How nice it seems to have one day of rest. Can it be possible that two weeks will end my stay in Athens Co. for the present and perhaps for all time! I can surely say it has been a pleasant one and I surely have a broader comprehension of life and its difficulties.
Father was down last week, it was quite a treat to see some one from home again.
Guess the news!
Ed Embree and Anna Elliot (Chalks old girl) were married last eve. It begins to make me feel a little old to see my younger cousins getting, however I am content if they are. Walter Embree does not get any better, Charley Hanson is much better so he was at church today.
We would surely feel a sense of pride to se Prof. Lehr placed as governor of Ohio and I believe he would surely be the right man in the right place.
I saw Leonard at church last Sun. I believe Ada has surely left its marks of improvement on him. He and Leonard went to Athens a few days ago and have not returned yet.
The time you stated to visit my home suits me exactly, or if it will be more convenient for you at any other time be free to make it known.
I will probably be at home three or four weeks as College Comm. will not be until about the 15th of June or near that time and I expect to remain until after that. I also want to attend examination at Columbus while there.
Father rec'd a letter from Ida a few days ago, they have gone to Enterprise Kas. to live this summer.
I hope it is not so warm at Ada as here, 99 [degrees] in the shade. I am glad to see you so intent on staying in school. I have been out so long it will be quite a task to get started again I fear.
May God's guiding hand direct us in every undertaking of life.
Tenderly
Bertha Lambert.
