Context

DANIEL A. HARRIS 5840 S. W. 48TH STREET MIAMI, FLORIDA 33155 Sept, 18, 1986 Dear Pauline Bierley: Thank you so much for your letter, and for all that you have done to help Dick. My first impulse was to call him at his new number. But I don't want to humiliate him. Can you ask him to telephone me, or write me giving me his new number and address? I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am for you help in getting Dick installed in new quarters, and in applying for senior housing in Westerville. I really believe that is the logical answer. I could ask him to come down here with me, but I am eight years older than he is, and I face some problems similar to his, – Accumulated junk, and inability to discard things. Perhaps this will make me act. If my presence would help in clearing out items in storage, I could come up and spend a few days in helping Dick make some decisions, and in suggesting people who might appreciate certain items, – grandchildren of mine — his great-nephews and nieces, Librarians, too. I am not telling Dick that you have written to me. I hope to hear from him soon, and then I will write to him. I think that may help him to keep his self respect. I thank you, more than I can say, for all the time, thought and energy you have given to this problem. I hope I can help you solve it. Ever gratefully yours, Daniel A. Harris
