TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
This letter will introduce Dr. J. H. Harris, a minister in good standing in the Southeast Ohio Conference of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ. Of this conference he has been a member since the year 1898. Dr. Harris served three charges in that conference: Portsmouth from 1903 to 1907; Hillsboro from 1907 to 1910; and the Fifth Avenue Church at Columbus from 1910 to 1919. In the year 1919 he was elected superintendent of his conference and continued in that relation for ten years.
In 1929 Dr. Harris was elected President of Bonebrake Theological Seminary and during the following quadrennium succeeded in reducing the indebtedness of the institution in the amount of $39,000.00. As Dr. Harris has been under unusually taxing financial responsibility for more than twenty years, he has decided to change his location and the character of his work for a few months at least.
Any favor that persons may have the opportunity to render to him, or to his unusually worthy family, will be greatly appreciated by the very large circle of fellow workers and friends who hold Dr. Harris in absolutely unqualified esteem and trust.
Respectfully yours,
{A. T. Howard}
A. T. Howard,
Acting President.
