After several days of delay on part of photographer I am sending photograph and coverbrief statement of my checkered career. I assumed that you do not care for date of marriage. If that should be desired the following might be stated: "married to Miss Bertha Lambert July 30, 1898. Four boys brighten the home."

Joseph Hastings Harris was born on a farm in Morgan County Ohio July 14, 1870, converted at age of ten, taught school two years, bricklayer by trade and member of Union No. 22 of Dayton Ohio, quarterly conference license by Rev. J. W. Willis, 1897, Annual Conference License by Bishop J. W. Hott 1898.
He was graduated from Otterbein College with A.B. degree in 1898, Bonebrake Theological Seminary with B.D. degree 1903, ordained by Bishop E. B. Kephart 1903 and received honorary degree Doctor of Divinity 1919 from Otterbein College.
He has served the Church as follows: pastor of State Road and Winchester classes in Miami Conference 1898- 99; Portsmouth 1903-1907; Hillsboro 1907-1910; Fifth Avenue Columbus 1910-1919, Superintendent of Southeast Ohio Conference 1919 - Member of the General Conferences 1913, 1917, 1921, 1925.
He is now serving as member of the Board of Administration and its executive committee, member Board of Trustees and executive committee of Otterbein College, also member Board of Directors of Bonebrake Theological Seminary.

Joseph Hastings Harris was born on a farm near Plantsville, Morgan County, Ohio. Learned the trade of brick-making and bricklaying, member Bricklayers Union No. 22 Dayton Ohio. Educated in public schools, Bartlett Academy, Ohio Northern University, Otterbein College, and Bonebrake Theological Seminary with the degree of A.B. from Otterbein 1898, and B. D. from Bonebrake Seminary 1903..
He joined the Southeast Ohio Conference of the Church of The United Brethren in Christ 1898, ordained by Bishop E. B. Kephart 1903 and received honorary degree Doctor of Divinity from Otterbein College 1919. Married to Bertha Lambert June 30, 1898.
He has served the Church as follows: Student pastorate in Miami Conference 1898- 99; Portsmouth in Southeast Ohio Conference 1903-1907; Hillsboro 1907-1910; Fifth Avenue Columbus 1910-1919; Superintendent of Southeast Ohio Conference 1919 to date. Member of the General Conferences 1913, 1917, 1921, 1925.
