Mon P.M.
Darling Joe: Your precious letter rec'd Sat. That was the best birthday present I ever had.
Just to know that you love me and appreciate my feeble efforts at trying to help make a pleasant home means more than silver and gold. Alfred took the dollar and went with the boys & got a set of water glasses. Of course I was surprised.
About 8:30 Sat. eve the door bell rang and I was called to the door - when in marched Mrs. Burtner followed by about 15 oddly dressed beings, black & white, male & female of all descriptions - a good time was enjoyed after which they served coffee & cakes. The guests proved to be Otterbein's, Hannah's, Warson's, Cline's, Burtner's and some of my own children.
Fri night I had entertained the guild so I have not had much time to play.
I am mailing some clothing, better send your dirty ones home so I can have them in readiness.
All well & busy
Lovingly
Bertha
