Dear Stephen and Margaret,
Happy New Year! I am finally getting around to thanking you for the wonderful visit I had with you. It was a real pleasure to meet you and spend the time together that we did. The holidays were a bit hectic for me since I had my children with me for their entire school break. I love having them with me full time but I am admittedly not used to it.
I trust that you and the PAF program are getting along famously. If you ever have a problem or a question, please feel free to contact me.
I am still pursuing the goal of tracking down all of the descendants of Daniel Webster Lambert. I am concerned about losing track of Paul Selby's family and George Selby's family. If you have any information on these branches or know of anyone who does, I would appreciate hearing from you.
In the process of "organizing" I found a letter written by Grace May Selby Smith to my grandmother Bertha Elizabeth Lambert Harris. I have transcribed it and am enclosing a copy of the transcript. I have also sent a copy to Malcolm. I believe that I have several other letters written by Grace. When I compile them together I believe the originals should eventually be placed with someone in your branch of the family. Please let me know your thoughts on this.
I hope to be sending you more information in the future. I would be very interested in copies of any correspondence you might have that was written by my grandmother, Bertha Lambert Harris, or any of her brothers, sisters, or parents. I am currently transcribing 303 letters that were written by my grandparents between 1894 and 1898, just before they were married. It is a huge job, but when complete I will know them so much better and be able to publish their letters so others in the family may know
them and their lives.
I owe Malcolm a visit and hope to get over to see him sometime this winter or spring. I really enjoy visiting him and wish I lived in his neighborhood. I also hope we can get together again in the near future. I need to get down there with my camera so I can copy that picture of a young Deborah Vernon Embree.
Sincerely,
