Dear Dick:
Many thanks for the survey clippings of the operatic activities in Columbus during the past months. Very interesting, and quite an improvement over what was going on when I was there.
But no word about you! How are you feeling? And have you adjusted to your living quarters, or are you considering moving again? I hear that there is a new retirement center in Westerville. Do you have any information about it?
I appreciate your telephone calls. Tell me more about the car that comes to pick you up for some of the group activities.
I continue to teach here at the house, although my schedule is very irregular. Mostly people who are singing in churches and need some solo repertoire.
I recently set up a scholarship at the United Theological Seminary in memory of J. H. Harris. Could I ask you to write to Mr. Henry Brooks at the Seminary, giving them some information about the problems of the Seminary at the time Dad was President? I know it was a difficult time - 1929 - but I was in Europe at the time. I came home briefly the summer of 1931. I enclose a letter which you may feel like answering. You are one of the very few people who can give a first hand report.
Thanks again for your "Opera Report". Next time put in a bit about yourself. All good wishes, - and love.
Your devoted brother
Dan
