Context

[Plantsville, OH, to Mr. J. H. Harris, Ada, Ohio, Box 479] At Alva's Plantsville, O. Feb. 23, 1895. Mr. J. H. Harris, Ada Ohio. Dear Joe: — I grasp the pen one moment to pen a few of the thoughts which have been seeking a place for several days. I can not express my thankfulness this morning in any words I could utter, but we have great reason to rejoice. Our meeting which I spoke of in my last letter seems to have just begun. Night before last it was decided to close the meeting if there was no stir. At the close of the services an opportunity was presented to any who wished to join the church. I have not time to describe this part of the service but before church closed that night, Maude & Cecil Burns, Mary Randall, Rufes White, Art Hanson, Oak Polk, two West young people and Howard & Seth had united with the church and expressed a desire to find Christ. Yesterday and last night they were all forward except Oak & Art. Praise the Lord for his wonderful works! I fear Howard was somewhat discouraged last night but trust he will go forward. How I have longed for you to be here and help us but I know we have your earnest prayers. Of course you will write to Howard and Seth in the near future. Tell Leonard “Now is the day of salvation” and he has my earnest prayer that though so widely separated he too may make a start for that kingdom with the rest of us. I know it would be a great inspiration to his brothers in this dark hour. I wish to go to church this morning so I can not write much more. Father was down this week. Mother expects to remain some time yet. Your letter was rec'd Wed. evening. You surely have my earnest prayers each day for your success in your very responsible position. The Herald is coming all right. I was at your home a little while last evening, they are well and enjoying the meeting. I must close asking once more your prayers for our meeting. Lovingly Bertha Lambert
