Dear Dick:
Many thanks for your letter. I certainly appreciate what you did in making the trip over to Orrville, and I enclose a check to help defray the expense involved, - car rental, gas, etc. Lucile and I were quite close, - only four days difference in our ages.
I am glad the Lambert Book Fund is doing a bit better. Lucile and Charles had both sent in good contributions, and it now seems possible that we might reach $5,000, the income from which might make a difference over the years. I sent in a little more in memory of Lucile.
I think I wrote to you about Nana's birthday. It was quite a

whing-ding, and she stole the show. About 100 people were there - at "The Pines", where Eva lives. Dan and John (with his family) both came down for the occasion. TV and Radio people were there, and it made the head lines in the Fort Myers paper.
As you may have read we have been having a lot of rain here. Fortunately I have a new roof and no problems. Some of the low lying districts west of town have really been swamped.
Greetings to your "family," and once again, thanks for making the trip.
Keep in touch
Dan
P. S. Thanks for the 10 bucks. I can't find the card, but I know it arrived. I'll tell you about the trip sometime. D.
