Miss Lambert,
Westerville, Ohio.
My Darling Bertha: You are anxious to know where I am and what I am doing. There is more work here than I expected and so I shall not be able to get away until perhaps Tuesday. I wrote last Friday night, but I presume you thought from the way I wrote that I would not be here this wk. I suppose too you have a very busy wk.
I have not made complete arrangements for school yet and do not know just how soon I will be able to enter.
I trust that you started yesterday. I am sorry I cannot be with you at present but will come as soon as possible.
I sold 55 Studies last wk. and 30 thus far this wk. making in all 122 for this place. Perhaps you may think a little strange and may be disappointed in my not starting in to school now, but when I see you I think that will vanish. I still love you with all my heart and expect to go on in school and make arrangements as rapidly as possible to bring our plans to a consummation.
It is hard to be separated as we are I know. I long for the time when we shall have a cottage or home of some kind where we may greet each other every day and work together in one common interest. I shall be sick if I do not hear from you pretty soon. It is noon now and I want to send this out on next mail so I will be brief for this time. I keep your picture handy and look at it quite often but it is too silent. If you have not already written please let me hear from you. I hope you are not sick.
Your Lover,
J. H. Harris
