Dear Friends:
And you certainly are "dear friends"! How can I ever thank you for all that you have done during the past years, — and are still doing! I only wish Dick had taken your advice and moved into the retirement center sooner.
I am so grateful for your hospitality. Your arrangements for the grave side service and the memorial service at the church were perfect. The remembrances of Ed Burtner and John were warm and vivid, and the people who spoke to me afterwards were so appreciative of Dick's personality and character.
Please let me know if there are unexpected expenses. I was surprised at Dick's excellent financial situation. I certainly trust you to handle it with authority and good judgment.
I shall never forget the many generous and thoughtful things you have done for Dick.
Thank you!
Dan
P.S. Many thanks for the book of cartoons. I enjoyed it on the plane. I look forward to the arrival of a bundle of your books, wrapped in STAMPS!
P.P.S. Today a copy of Ed. Burtner's remarks arrived, for which I am very grateful. D. H.
