Context

[From Westerville, OH, 20 Jul 1900 to Cor. Summit & Monument, Dayton, OH] Westerville, O. July 20 My Dear Husband, I will write a little hastily as Elsie is going to the office before the rain. Paul and I are real well and having a fine visit. Paul had the colic last evening for a little while pretty bad but seems as bright as ever today. I think it was the damp weather that did it. I think I am feeling so much better than when I came over. We are keeping mother as quiet as possible and her limb seems to be improving very fast. We have been having so much rain I think you can not get much done at your work. I am quite anxious to hear from Mrs. Shull. Ira is coming one week from next Mon. but I hardly feel that I ought to stay that long if father comes home next week. I rec'd your card Wed. morning, was so glad you got home all right. I have been working at one of Paul's new dresses some today. Elsie is hemstitching one of them. I have not been away since Mon. it seems that we have been so busy. Otto & Lora were here Wed. afternoon to look over Otterbein's books. Now do take good care of my darling boy and write often. I know it is quite a sacrifice on your part for me to be away and I thank you so much. But I feel that it is rather selfish to be off having such a good time and you at home working so hard. Be sure and get plenty to eat and do not work too hard. Pray for us each day and may you be kept secure. Lovingly, Bertha
