It must have been some shock to you to have a couple of first cousins come out of the blue! Well, life can be full of surprises.
It seems like it has been so long since we met in July. I am delighted that we could get together and I hope you will keep in touch. I know Helen wrote you and has not heard back. I am sure that you are extremely busy and preoccupied at this time, but please do not overlook what a good friend/relative you could have in Helen. She is a terrifically good-hearted person and would really like to get to know you and your family better, as would I. I hope you will reply to her some time soon. I think she and her husband are going to Florida around the sixteenth of November.
I have been busier than a "one-armed paper hanger with the hives" with my new role as "Mister Mom." The kids are both in school and have adjusted to their new location very nicely. I have recently been preoccupied with the security of my job. Northwest Airlines finally bought Midway Airlines at the eleventh hour in the beginning of October. We were hours away from closing the doors and hitting the unemployment lines. We now have a reprieve and the potential for continued employment with Northwest. The airline industry today is crazier than a soap opera!
Perhaps you could make copies of all the materials I have sent you and give a set to Richard and Ronnie. I am hopeful that we can get your brother involved in the study of our family history. Any facts that we can gather for publication will be shared with everyone. My interest lies in preserving our family history as accurately and appropriately as possible, possibly in a published form someday.
I know I have dumped a lot of material on you at one time, but a lot of the work has already been done for you. It takes a lot of time to digest it all and make some sense of it. You will have many questions, as do I. For example, I still do not know where your grandparents, Martin Peters and Mary Kane, were married, about 1890. If you come up with anything, please let me know. Feel free to contact me or Helen at any time for any questions you have or if you just need someone to talk to.
I need to close and get this in the mail. Please let me hear how you are doing.
Love,
