Dear Richard, I was glad for your letter, I think it means much for you to get in these Conventions. It will help you to land a really good job some of these days. I hear they are having some more severe weather up north. And this time it did not come down here.
On Tues, we went with Mrs. Green and her daughter to the Beach. We took a fried chicken and other good things. On the way home we dropped down toward Homestead and Princeton very near to where Jordan and Ida lived. There are beautiful gardens every where and I wished they could see things as they are today. A beautiful little town has grown up and they have a good shipping Station with lots of room for packing and storing fruits and vegetables. We had a nice lady with us for two weeks, only Tues. she left for Buffalo. I hope she does not get stranded on the snow and ice.
Tonight we go with some friends to a dinner meeting in one of the homes. Next week we have the Chain of Missions. They will have some very good speakers here. We hope to take in these meetings.
Had a good letter from Dan, he says they are busier than ever.
As you see I am trying to practice my typing. Carrie's machine is in bad shape [so I] blame part of my mistakes [on] that. I hear Columbus is a glare of ice so maybe you are having some more [v]acation.
I had a nice letter from Emma, Arthur's widow. She keeps house for her son, Alanson. His wife died with polio.
Well I think this is enough for you to figure out this time.
With love
Mother
