Dear Paul,
I especially want to thank you for your letter of May 31, your story of your visit to Westfield, N.J. burial place of John and Elizabeth Sayre Lambert and their two children, Jesse and John: and your gift of photographs of the stones marking the grave sites. They Certainly have been well preserved for all these years, thanks to the Presbyterian Church.
Yesterday I attended the memorial service for our cousin J. Arthur Harris and enclose a copy of that program and the newspaper clippings. Jim and Sara have had me over for several special day family dinners in recent years, the last being just six weeks ago for Easter. Art seemed about as well as usual and continued to participate in many things until a week ago when he missed his normal church and money-county service there. The end came suddenly with a massive heart attack. As you see, the two children and three grandchildren were all present yesterday and we ate together after the service. His body was donated to the G. W. Hospital. I have been closer to that family than any other in the 50 + years since we met in Minnesota.
Your commuting schedules cannot be easy but I hope it is a satisfactory pattern for all concerned and that your children are doing well.
Grace is coming to see me later this week and will appreciate the photographs.
Thanks again,
{Malcolm}
We have a Smith cousins reunion at Cedar Lakes, Ripley, W. VA on July 25 and 26, driving over from here on the 24th.
