Context

[Westerville, OH, to Mr. J. H. Harris, Ada, Ohio] Westerville O., Mch. 12, '96. Mr. J. H. Harris, Ada O. My Dear Joe: — I will see if I can write you a business letter. However I may possibly mix some friendship terms between the lines. Ira has been telling me of a Grecian play that was given at Ada about Dec. 93. The title of the play was “Pygmalion and Galatea.” Mrs. McCoppin and Prof. Wright were two of the characters. As you have not much to do I am going to ask you to see if you can get a copy of the play from one of them, and if you can not do that, find out where we can procure the play. We want to give it during commencement if it is suitable. I think you have to perform all the favors but possibly I can do something for you some time. Things are passing about as usual, plenty of work and some cold weather. A letter from Alva today states that G. L. Hanson has gone to the Pen. I do not like to have Athens Co. people come to our Capitol in that way. While sitting in Greek today I thought of a sentence in your letter and it almost frightened me for I think you have misunderstood me. But I will say no more this time. I may say more next Sun. I can hardly wait those two long weeks but there is no way but to live through it. This is society evening so Good bye Lovingly Bertha Lambert.
