Context

[Iberia, OH, to Mr. J. H. Harris, Box 219, Athens Plantsville, Ohio, Return to Box 23 Iberia, O.] Iberia, O., July 21, '96. Mr. J. H. Harris, Athens O. My Darling Jos.: — I will write a few lines although I am somewhat hurried. Lucy is sick today and I am housekeeper. It keeps me almost busy to look after the three babies. Last Thur. I came home from Galion. I had not rec'd the O.T. studies and did not want to go over all the ground twice, so as I was wanting to see about some other work here I came home for a few days. The two days which I worked in Galion last week I sold ten studies. There will be a few days work there yet. I expect to go back about the first of August and make my delivery of the O.T. studies and finish up the town. I expect to go to Mt. Gilead tomorrow and see what I can do there. I had intended to go today but as Lucy was sick put it off. Well how does this warm weather serve you? And how are you getting along? My chorus class is doing fine. I am trying to get through with my work so that I can get home one week before school opens. Tonight the Pres. have a lawn fete and I have to be a Pres. and wait on one of the tables. John is trying as hard as ever to convert me. I feel like telling him there might be some hopes if he would keep still. But I presume he means it all right. We rec'd a long letter from D. I. and he seems to be in perfect bliss. He will stay until the middle of Aug. at least. Do I understand that you are still intending to come to O.U. this fall? I feel like I could almost talk you to death if I had a chance. Time is passing very swiftly and I am glad it is for it seems sometimes like a great number of miles separate us. But the summer is not being spent in vain. I am doing some reading and learning a great many lessons of importance. Your last letter did me so much good I rec'd it just as I was leaving Galion. I will bring this scribbling to a close and write more soon. You may write to Iberia. Your own true one Bertha Lambert.
