Dear P. J. (Skip)
I missed hearing from you. It is a great pleasure for an old goat like myself to be remembered by friends, associates, and former and present students.
I spent Christmas and the following day in Fort Myers, Florida, where I helped my sister-in-law, Eva Ward, celebrate her 88th birthday on the 26th. She lives at a retirement center, but is still very active in the office.
Early in June I had a delightful trip to France with my son John and his wife. He is a wine importer, and we visited the Burgundy country over on the eastern side of France. I was able to justify my presence by occasionally serving as interpreter.
It makes me very happy to know that so many of my former pupils are active in performance or teaching. I continue to teach privately here at the house, and I have some very delightful and talented pupils. Contact with them keeps me from completely fossilizing.
I send you my best wishes for health and happiness in this new year.
Do let me hear from you. I send you my best thoughts and wishes. Hope the children are well.
Uncle Dan
