Mr. J. H. Harris,
Westerville, O.
Dear Brother:-
Our committee has agreed to your appointment as principal of the Training School at Shaingay, West Africa. Also to the appointment of Miss Lambert as teacher in the School, with this provision, I am asked to have her secure a statement from a good optician as to the nature of her eye trouble, stating as to whether it is likely to become serious and as to whether it would be probable that a sojourn in Africa would bring on a worse condition of affairs. We should like this professional opinion. Please have her attend to it and forward statement to me at your earliest convenience.
I am always with esteem,
Cordially yours,
{Wm M Bell}

Dear Dr Bell
This is to express my opinion that Miss Lambert who has been under my care for nearly five years, on account of her eyes, is physically capable of fulfilling the duties she expects to assume, and that the change of climate will be beneficial rather than otherwise.
Faithfully yours,
W K Rogers
