Dear Paul:
I went to library to do some research on the Dille and Linscott families, but I did not find much information there. I am sending you the first page of Isaac Linscott's family history. This Elsie Bailey Antle that did this research was a descent of Isaac 1, Israel 2, George 3. If you want the rest of it sent to you I will get it for you.
I am going to Dallas, TX to visit my sister for two weeks. I will be back the 7th day of May. Let me know when you are planning on coming here. I should be home most of the time after that.
I may try to do some research out there. I did some research a few years back out there. The Mormon Libraries have different information for our research.
Enclosed are two death records I found at the court house. I will try to find the obituaries in the newspaper when I return home.
Sincerely,
{Barbara}

Isaac Linscott, a native of Kennebunk, Maine, and of English extraction, came to Ohio in 1797 and purchased land in Washington County. In 1800 he settled on a farm in Section 6, Township 6, Range 13, where he lived until his death. This tract is in the extreme Northeast corner of Ames Township. Linscott Run, a branch of Ewing Run, received its name from this family.
The marriage records of York, Maine, show Isaac Linscott married to Miriam Whittier on Dec. 8, 1766.
In the 1790 census of York County, Maine, we find Isaac with three sons over 16 years of age and four sons under 16 years of age; also, five daughters and his wife. At this time he lived at Francis-Borough Plantation, York, Maine.
The only county in Ohio in 1800 was Washington County, which covered the southern half of the State. The 1800 census listed men over 21 years of age. In Middletown the 1800 census lists Isaac, Noah, Israel, Joseph and Amos.
It has been impossible to list Isaac's children according to their age. It has also been impossible to find Isaac's grave or any written information as to where he is buried. Many of the older Linscotts believe him to be buried in the Linscott Run Cemetery, but history books listing those buried there do not include his name. The tomb stones there have been removed.
