Rev. J. H. Harris:
I desire to express my sympathy and offer condolence in the very sad accident last night in which Mrs. Harris and her brothers were so badly hurt. Trust they will recover all right. We were awakened about one o'clock this morning by some one seemingly in distress, which proved to be your brother-in-law. Said he had tried to awaken them in four or five hours but had failed. My son got them to the home of E. C. Gayward, Canal Winchester as soon as he could by automobile. I looked around with flashlight and found a ladies watch, ring (broken) some of the sets out, small stick pin, base ball, Mrs. Harris' card, a blank check, and automobile supplies which I brought home. My son (Howard Artz) went up this morning and brought home tools, cushions, & [ ]. After breakfast he brought automobile and put it in shed, but while he was away some one stole the [di-----]. We also found one book and part of a lens of a pair of spectacles.
The accident happened on the Jefferson hill on the Columbus pike. Some fresh gravel had been placed on road and that evidently caused accident. The machine had rolled over as fenders on both sides are crushed. The top is [--ined]. One tire is down aside from this don't think the damage great. We will keep things here until further orders. My phone number 915 Canal Winchester (Cit) can be reached on Bell - Carroll - call Howard Artz. Trusting all may recover nicely.
I remain most sincerely yours.
