Context

Dear Richard: I am wondering how the world is treating you. There has been a lot of influenza around here. Diane was home ten days with bronchitis and James was home with a cold for four or five days. Both are out and going again. Baby still grows and we are all able to eat three meals a day so we should not complain. We have all been anxious to know whether you are coming over for Christmas. Mother Stacey wrote me that you phoned Dan to get you a reservation on the Empire State for the 22nd. Please send me a wire telling us when you will arrive and when you wish to return so I can get reservations for return trip. I must let Dan know my plans especially if they are to meet me in Cleveland. If we would return to Oberlin on the 31st then you could go on to Columbus on the New Years Day. Let me know please about your plans. The folks are anxious for you to come. Love Mother In case your train should be late you might miss your train at Albany but there are buses which run past the station and go to Glens Falls. Some of the trains just go to Saratoga but you can get a bus there for Glens Falls. Mother
