Context

[Marietta, OH, to Miss Bertha E. Lambert, Westerville, Ohio, “Franklin Co.”] Marietta, Ohio. June 19, 1896. Miss Bertha Lambert Westerville, Ohio. Darling Bertha: I expect to leave here this P.M. or tomorrow morning, but all mail will be forwarded. The Bible I mentioned was sent to Sharpsburg so I will send one of them on at once with a few Studies. I have but few Studies on hand, but will send enough to start with. I just wrote to Mr. Snyder (your Snyder). He is selling some of the Studies and is well pleased with the work and sent order for more so I think when you and he get to work things will move. I am at the P.O. so I must be careful and leave the Salutation until the close. You said you wished that “bachelor Joe” were yours. Well perhaps if you try hard you might be able to get him! I do not know how long I shall stay at home but you may add. your next to Plantsville. I spent a part of one evening with Mr & Mrs Ellis and of course I had a fine time. Waiting for a more favorable place for writing I remain devotedly yours, J. H. Harris, Plantsville, Ohio.
