Context

Columbus Ohio May 29th 1925. Rev. J. H. Harris, Westerville, Ohio. My dear Mr. Harris: Sometime ago I met on of your brothers and in conversation I mentioned that I had become interested in looking into the Dille family ancestry. At this time your brother said he knew little about the family but thought you had quite a lot of information concerning the different families and so I write to ask if you will tell me what you know. I know that your mother was a cousin to my father, David Dille, attorney, late of Athens County, and that your uncle was David Lewis Dille who visited us a number of years ago when my father was living and I was a child. I particularly would like to know how many there were in the family of our great-grandfather, David Dille whose wife's first name was Elizabeth. I would also like to know her maiden name if possible, and the names of their children. I know there were Absalom, my grandfather, William, James, Lewis, "Squire" and one they used to talk about called Dyer who went west years ago. I know there were some girls, but only remember hearing of one Aunt Patty South,. If you have a history, or any information, I will most surely appreciate your kindness in allowing me to have a copy of same. I would also like to know the nationality of the ancestry and where they first settled in this country, if possible. I have never met you personally but have heard a number of your sermons and have heard the late Mrs. S. S. Jeffries, who was a dear friend of mine, speak of you often. Thanking you with kindest personal regards, I beg to remain Sincerely, {B. E. Dille} Miss B. E. Dille Columbus Hotel Columbus, Ohio.
