Dear Paul and Sue,
First off, I am going to have to meet Sue in order to get my head straightened out on the name. I am embarrassed to be so unsure and forgetful but I am rather confuse about two names I guess. Do I have one of them right Sue?
I wanted to write a letter rather than an email or call at this time partly because I am hoping that Paul will read this and maybe even reply to it. I (and Mary too) really enjoy your annual holiday letters with all your experience and family update. Hard to believe the “kids” are grown, with families of their own and good careers. However, it has been longer than I can even imagine since I last had any direct contact with Paul. I have to wonder if Paul is angry with me. You could well be Paul and I would understand if you are. You might ever discover that I have a bone to pick with you also if we could talk a bit. In the meantime though, I am still so impressed with all the work that you have done for the Harris and Lambert family’s genealogy and records. Thank you for all that.
Mary and I will be traveling to the southeastern states in September. It has been about 30 years since we were last in that part of our country and now Mary would like to see the communities of Savanah, Charleston as well as revisit the outer banks and shore again. I look forward to an autumn or pre-autumn drive in the “Smokies” and Appalachia areas again. We will probably be traveling not far from Raleigh around the third or fourth week of September and, if you are at home during that time, we would spend a night at a motel in the Raleigh-Durham vicinity and perhaps meet you for dinner and talk. That would be really fine for us. Your wealth of information about the Lambert families is so vast that it’s hard to have a “brief ’ discussion but any part of that would be wonderful also. You could also try to educate me again about who that charming older lady/ Lambert relative is/was whom you brought to our last really big party and whom I never really met before you left, busy as I was connecting some 25 guests with others they had barely met. However, all that is probably ancient history now with your new settled life in colorful NC.
If you could, please drop me a note (1643 Manor Oaks Dr., Plainfield IL 605860) or email (l_lambert@att.net) or phone call (815) 254-5455 and let us know if there is a time within the third/fourth weeks of September that you will or will not be at home along with a number I can call and I will see if there is some way we can connect. Thanks, and again, my apology (for name lapse) to you Sue, and thanks for your wonderful letters and family updates.
Todd Lambert
