Dear Helen,
It was so nice to get your letter. My heart has often gone out to you and the woman I knew as Aunt Dotty. I know you have had much to deal with as a result of your experiences. My father's legacy of rootlessness has caused him and his family considerable pain also whether the price paid is dramatic or subtle, it is great.
I would like very much to see

you when you visit in Michigan. Unfortunately, that is a bad week in my working life. I have a consultancy meeting here in Ann Arbor with people coming here Sunday the 16th and leaving the evening of Tuesday the 18th. I fly to Syracuse early on the 20th and return Sunday the 23rd. I am home on Wednesday, July 19th if that is okay for you. And I'll get home from Syracuse on Sunday the 23rd. I hope we can see one another. Fondly, {Patti}
