Dear Dick:
It was a real pleasure to visit with you in your new home, and to be included in the birthday party at the Bierly's. Please thank them for me. They are wonderful friends. I only wish I could have added something for the festivities. I was too stupid to think of opening that box of candy to pass around. Anyway, many thanks for the candy, and for the jar of peanut butter. Evidently you are trying to fatten me up for the slaughter.
I enjoyed driving around with you Sunday, and was happy that you suggested going to the cemetery. Sorry we missed out on Wilbur. Please give them my greetings and best wishes.
Please use the enclosed check for material for shelves for your room, - bricks and boards, - or whatever you prefer. Sears may have something that would work.
I certainly want you to come down here for a good visit, but I think you had better wait for cooler weather. It is very hot and humid now. In the meantime drop me a note now and then.
Ever your devoted brother
Dan
P. S. Please thank Mrs. Thomas for driving me to and from the airport. I enjoyed meeting the family.
D.
