Context

[Ada, OH, to Miss Bertha Lambert, Westerville, Ohio, “Franklin Co.”] Ada, O. Mar. 24, '96. Miss Lambert, Westerville, Ohio. Dear Sweetheart: Your welcome letter at hand has made me feel almost like a new man, and the time seems to go rather slowly. I had thought of asking you to wait until Friday, but since your plea was quite eloquent perhaps I may as well make arrangements to meet you Thursday evening although I learn that the train does not arrive at Col. until 9:30 which I fear will make you a sleepy little girl to stay up so late. Do not stay up too late as I can put up elsewhere and call on you before breakfast(?). I may want to spend part of the day Friday in Col. Doubtless you may be so you can go with me. I find it rather a difficult time to leave here, but I would not miss that visit for a great deal, for I feel that a great deal is involved in it. It made me so glad to note the tone of satisfaction in your letter. Surely God is leading us in this affair and I believe we shall soon step out of this what has seemed darkness. I will have to work day and night for a day or two now and will have to get my shoe patched also, but I am just looking forward with the thought of looking into those loving eyes now in two days and I will not say what other demonstrations may result. So far as I see now I will leave here Thursday afternoon and if possible get to W. at once. I know it will seem like a long wait to both of us as I remember when coming in that night from home during the holidays, I felt like I wanted to push the car along. Hoping this may find my Sweetheart loving as ever I remain your true Lover, J. H. Harris.
