Darling Joe: — No doubt you will wonder what I am doing here this morning. I wrote to you last week concerning my eyes. They did not improve as rapidly as I thought. I came to Columbus Thur. and the Dr. thought I had better stay here in the city instead of traveling back and forth. So I am staying with Mrs. Southard an old friend of ours. My eyes are improving very rapidly and I think possibly I can go home today. Please do not worry about me for I think I can enter school again soon. I am using medicine which makes it difficult for me to see to read and write so I know you will excuse this short scratch. I will let you know if my eyes are worse so you need not worry. There are three young gentlemen here who do their best to entertain me and keep me from getting homesick.
Your true one
Bertha Lambert
