Dear Dick:
I can’t remember when I last wrote to you, so I may do some repeating. Did I tell you that as a guest at the Chamber of Commerce banquet I won one of the door prizes, - a round trip flight to Düsseldorf, Germany, leaving Miami June 24? Eugene Holmes is singing in Düsseldorf, and I will be able to hear several of his performances. I will also be able to go to Stuttgart, where Bill Ray and his wife have been living for the past twenty years. Leonardo Wolovsky may come up from Florence, where he lives. I plan to return, from Düsseldorf, on July 12.
Lee Kjelson, the choral director at the University, threw a surprise party for me last week. He passed the hat and raised enough money to pay for a Eurail pass which is valid on the Rhine steamers, so I intend to renew my acquaintance with my old girl friend in Loreley.
Dick, you can imagine how grateful I am to have such wonderful friends. I may be able to get up to Munich. Italy’s a little too far for this trip.
I’ll send you a postcard. I only wish I could take you along. Have a good summer.
{As ever
Dan}
P. S. The Lambert fund is a bit of a fizzle. The total stands at $2,025, as of two months ago. Don’t worry about your making the Centurion list. It doesn’t mean that you have to repeat. As you say, it was a one-shot gift, - and I certainly appreciate your generosity. I will try to add a little more if I get back alive.
Greetings to your adopted family.

I appreciate your letters.}
