Miss Lambert,
Westerville, Ohio.
My Darling Bertha: It is most train time, but I will send a few lines. My orders have not come. The morning mail may bring them. If so I can be with you tonight I think.
I am sorry to disappoint my Sweetheart, indeed it is almost cruel but it seems the best that can be done now.
Do not wait for me tonight. If I come I will either call or go to the hotel for the night.
Hastily Your Lover
3 P.M. I missed the mail this morning so you of course spent Sat. evening in suspense. It is all my fault. I am obliged to stay until Monday at least. I hope you may be rewarded for such patience. I love you just the same even if miles do compel us to be apart. I will write Monday morning again.
The work is going nicely.
Your Lover in suspense,
J. H. Harris.(over)
I am working from early morn till late at night. Have some more work to do with agts and expect to send out one or two more.
Philos 123 Franks 100 Whoopie!
I have seen nothing about my school work yet. I would so much liked to have been with you over Sab. as I know it is so difficult to get lessons and visit at the same time. I want to be sure this time so close. I am at the depot now.
Love,
J. H. H.
