1. P.M.
Dear Bertha:
Excuse this brief note as it is almost class time and I have almost decided to go to Col. tomorrow. Prof. Morse (a sculptor) wants me to go with him and introduce him to the Pres. of Y.M.C.A. in O.U. and the Sect. of the city association etc. We secure reduced rates on R.R. and I may have to return Sunday, what time I do not know and possibly may have to return tomorrow night. I shall try to get away from Col. long enough at any rate to make a trip North. I knew of this only a few moments ago and may surprise you somewhat, but thought the note might reach you before I could arrive after getting away from Prof. at Col. Now I may not come. Do not be too badly disappointed if I do not.
If you have any other arrangement do not spoil the same on my account. I will not disturb you much. If I find there will not be time to visit you I shall write letters of introduction for the Prof. and just remain here, hoping though to see you soon, I remain devotedly yours,
J. H. Harris.
Later. Prof says he may not go, but rather expect to go. Your [J.H.H.]
