Dear Bertha:
Your message at hand finds me trying to arrange everything complete that I may be able to respond to the kind invitation which (to me) seemed to pervade every sentence of your letter.
Perhaps I read some between the lines, but suffice it to say that I shall leave here Thursday morning and if not detained in Col. will come on the same train as before.
If I reach W. before this does the laugh will be yours.
Quite likely I will hear of you going back to Hermon ere long from the ring of your letter. Well I would enjoy being there a wk. myself, but as I view things now it is doubtful about being there this summer.
We have vacation here Thursday so everything seems to be coming my way, and it is too late for you to say anything now.
I have arranged for the silk hat and curly cane. What more do I need?
I feel very much encouraged indeed in the way our Y.M.C.A. work started this term.
I never saw so many so eager to take Bible study.
I certainly thank you for the opportunity of our expected visit and since it is now quite late and you are snoring so loud you cannot hear me talk, I close to wait until our meeting shall be the communion of real personalities.
Yours patiently waiting.
J. H. Harris.
