Context

My Dear Sister:- I did so much enjoy your good letter, & to know how bravely you are going on the way. It is such a triumph to keep doing something in some way. My only security and peace seems to come in that. In your handicap you are doubly triumphant in it all. We are about as usual tho have some cold part of the time. Ruth is quite busy in her church and school work. I had to give a special address at Adam Mills last Sun night, and she had the young folk here celebrate young people's day with a fine program in my absence, which was broadcast for the town, as one of our members has been doing of late for our church services. I had such a nice not from James. He is certainly doing a fine work over there. So glad for all the fine things your boys stand for and are doing and that Richard can be with you. We have had a lot of ice & snow which has been rather hard to get around in each day for Ruth, & out in the hills to & from our second church, but have not missed a service, & got around all right so far, for which I am thankful, with so many serious and fatal accidents. Tonight we have our union Brotherhood attending, which is quite a fine dinner and program. So sorry the sad state of the world continues and that the outlook for Spring is not good, but we may be thankful for our country and pray for the speedy coming of peace, and the good God will somehow bring out of it. Pardon me for enclosing this dollar I had ready to put with what the Westerville folk might have in flowers for Joe at the time of his homegoing, but in view of your notice regarding flowers did not get to do so. I am sending it to you to use for some little thing for yourself-just for yourself. Later I may want to do something for that fund noted, but just now please use it for yourself in memory of Joe. Please take care you self. You have always been an inspiration to me. Lovingly, Ira. Best regards from Ruth to you both. Dresden-2-4-1941.
