I'm finally going to sit down long enough to send you some info. Re your question about Robert and Ethel Randall - I have no idea who they are. Sorry. I printed out the letter your grandfather wrote to Charles Harris and will spend time with it. I'm not sure, but I think Mama's mother went by Marietta. - I want to give you some stuff to work on - tidbits I picked up in Mama's diaries. First - three birthdays for Ione's kids: John Richard Nothstine Jan. 1914; Marietta Ann Nothstine April 1921; Margaret Nothstine March 14 but I don't have the year. I think she was younger than Warren, but older than I. Also in the Nothstine family: Margaret's husband, Jack Rankin, died on 6/20/72 and Mama mentions "Al and Edna, Richard, Clara (his wife?), Ann, Jimmy (her son?) and Margaret" as being at the funeral on 6/23. Mama's first reference to Margaret and Jack was on 4/19/70 so I have no idea when they married. - A couple of deaths in case you don't have them: Aunt Ella died 10/2/67 following a stay in the hospital where Mama, Wilbur, Mabel, and Madge (birthday 7/16/?) visited her in Marietta, Ohio, on 9/19/67. ON 6/12/69 Aunt Minnie went to Carroll Rest Home in Sunbury. She died there on 6/25/69 at the age of 89 1/2. - On 7/20/63 Mama had a note from Cassie saying that she was to be married - but I found no further info as to when that actually took place. From 6/4/65 on Mama writes about how Cassie and Glen visited her - it usually had something to go with Otterbein. In case you don't have it, Cassie's birthday was 10/7, but I don't have the year. She was older than Mama by a few years as Ione came between Cassie and Mama - the[n] the twins, Harry and Helen, coming along later. I will still send you a copy of the letter I mentioned to you on the phone that I had from Cassie in January 1974. - Here's an interesting note: ON 7/17/71 Mama writes that Ethel Wertz needed a birth certificate and since she didn't have one, she was sending Mama some paperwork to sign as verification. Later, on 9/1/73, there was a notation that Ethel Wertz retired that day. I'm hoping you have some info on Ethel may be WAY off base on this, but were Ethel and Frances Harris twins????? The info we each have dated 2/22/54 doesn't have any particulars about Frances - such as age. Of course, I realize it wasn't meant as an obit. But, if I'm right, she sure died young - if Ethel didn't retire until 1973. - 2/1/? was Nelle Harris' birthday. Mama mentioned it in 1968. On 5/27/72 Nelle and Harold (her son, a couple of years younger than I) were guests at Mama's for dinner. - On 10/29/72 I was in Ohio. Margaret, Ann, Mama and I went to see Cassie and Glen in Hamilton, Ohio. Paul, this is quite a bit of info and I hope at least some of it you don't already have. I am going to print it out after I have sent it to you so that I will know just what I've sent. Since the diaries project is finished, I'm going to look at some old letters, though I doubt if they will turn up and much info as the diaries did. Have fun with this! "Talk" with you later. Jean (In case you're wondering, I dropped the Helen when I went into the business world and people were inclined to call me by my first name only. My nickname with the family and close friends was always, and remains, Jeannie.) Bye for now.
